    Hi David

Just a quick note to say many thanks for inspiring me to become a bee keeper! I was in New Zealand 2 years ago and went to Taupo where they have an excellent bee centre by the Huka falls. It was a fascinating visit but seemed too complicated. However on return to the UK I bought your book and it gave me all the help I needed to start. I will be visiting NZ again next year so if the opportunity arose I would love to say thanks on a more personal level and also see how a commercial operation works.

    All the very best

We are creating a Honey Bee exhibit at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster Mass. As part of the exhibit we would like to show the difference between what a bee sees and what we see and to do that we would like to use the photographs you posted on your Feb 5, 2011 post. The two photographs show both what we see and the same object as a bee see it.

Sounds a good idea. please use whatever you need from Apis UK with an acknowledgement. The more people who learn about bees and pollination the better. Keep up the good work.

    Hello

Has your thesis on drone congregation areas been published?

    • Editor says:

      Hi Val,

thanks for your contact. The thesis was only used for my PG diploma at the Bee Research Unit at Cardiff and so wasn’t published to the world. IBRA have a copy and various other facilities in the UK and USA and I’ve got one and that’s about it. If I can be of any more help, just let me know.

      Regards

      David Cramp
